| How to
Commission a Portrait:
My goal is to exceed your expectations -
to capture your portrait with sensitivity and spirit. I consider a portrait
to be a partnership between the subject and myself. Commissions are very
personal. I take time and care in painting your fondest memory.
Call or E-mail me to
discuss details of your commission, including size, format, personal objects
in painting, interior or exterior setting… as well as positioning from head
and shoulders to full figure. Once your needs are determined you will
receive a price quote within 48 hours. Upon determination of your needs, a
50% non-refundable deposit will begin your portrait followed by 25% mid-way
through painting and a final 25% upon your painting's completion.

Working from
Photos - or Live Sitting and Photos
I can come to your
location for preliminary sketches and/or photograph your subject. You may
also choose an existing favorite photo, along with several other photographs
of your portrait subject in order to gather more than one view of the
subject to assure best representation. Generally, photos with one
directional source of natural light and no flash provide the best results.
To provide the best
likeness, your photo must be of high quality resolution. If the photo is
provided in digital format, a 300 dpi or greater would be required. This
includes archival or old family photos.
